Smashing Pumpkins plans ‘Siamese Dream’ shows in Highland Park

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of its groundbreaking 1993 album “Siamese Dream,” the Smashing Pumpkins will be putting on a pair of acoustic concerts at the intimate Madame Zuzu’s in Highland Park.

Tickets for the shows at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sept. 17 are on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 6. The limited tickets ($345-$495) are on sale via Eventbrite with sites for earlier and later shows.

The later show will be livestreamed on Veeps; fans can register for a free livestream ticket link here.

Madame Zuzu’s Tea Shop at 1876 1st St. is owned by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and his partner Chloe Mendel. According to the announcement, the celebration is in collaboration with Tower Records. For three days beginning Sept. 14, Madame Zuzu’s will also be a vintage Tower Records pop-up store, with limited edition merchandise.

The band wraps its World is a Vampire Tour with a show Sept. 9 in Noblesville, Indiana. The third part of its 12th studio album “Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts” was released on May 5.
