A 21-year-old man was shot in the leg Monday morning in the River North neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Police said the man was walking on the sidewalk in the 600 block of North State Street when someone in a silver Dodge pickup truck fired shots at about 2:47 a.m. The Chicago Fire Department transported the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.
The man was shot about a block from the recently-opened Bally’s Chicago casino, located at 600 North Wabash Avenue in the Medinah Temple. The city’s first casino opened on Saturday, with gamblers set to try their luck seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. at the historic facility.
