FORT MYERS, Fla. — A man wearing only a shirt used a pickup truck to ram his way into a Fort Myers pharmacy.

The man was working with his full moon exposed and only the moonlight illuminating his way early Sunday morning. Security cameras outside of the Family Pharmacy and Medical Supply on Six Mile Cypress Parkway captured the man around 4:45 a.m.

Police arrested Aaron Eichbauer, 36, after using fingerprint data to link him to the crime.

In the security camera video, you can see Eichbauer use tools to try and get through the glass wall on the side of the pharmacy.

When that failed, he turned to the Dodge Ram pickup truck he brought with him, ramming his way into the building.

“Wow,” said Andrea Passini. “I’ve never seen anything like that.”

Once inside, Eichbauer is accused of stealing $3,000 worth of prescription drugs from the pharmacy. That’s in addition to the roughly $10,000 worth of damage done to the side of the building.

However, police also say the truck he used to break into the building was reported stolen out of Cape Coral.

“Well, he had quite a night,” Passini said.

“He should know better before he thinks about doing something like that,” added Priynka DeSalava.

Police found the pickup truck dumped in a nearby apartment complex. Inside, they found fingerprints that matched the fingerprints they found on pill bottles inside the pharmacy.

Using technology, detectives were able to link Eichbauer to the crime. His fingerprints were already in the system. Arrest records in Lee County show that he’s been arrested at least 15 times before with charges ranging from drug offenses to theft and even domestic violence.

“You got busted dude. Don’t do it again,” Passini said.

Eichbauer remains in the Lee County Jail on $72,500 bond.
