Happy Wednesday to you!

Our main weather driver again today will be the frontal system that has stalled right over us. Meaning, this afternoon we will have numerous showers and thunderstorms, just like yesterday. SWFL is in the side of the front will extra moisture, which will allow the sea breeze in the afternoon to really ramp up shower and storm activity.

We start the morning with showers and storms offshore which will bring a few sprinkles and showers to our inland communities. By the afternoon, these showers will move more inland and become widespread. Bring the umbrella before you head out!

By the end of the week, a low pressure area will form along the front and move up toward the Carolinas by the weekend. It will bring drier and slightly cooler air down our way by the weekend.

Tracking the Tropics

Hurricane Nigel is still a Category 2 system in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and will not be bothering anybody on land.

Low Pressure that may develop along this front stretched over southern Florida has a low chance of developing over the next 7 days near Jacksonville or the Carolina coast before tracking northeast, away from Florida.

A tropical wave off the African coast will be pushing westward through the tropical Atlantic has a good shot at forming into a tropical depression by the end of the week or this weekend. Way to early to say where this will be heading, but just something to keep our eyes on at the moment. We’ll keep you updated!
