The front that has been affecting us for the last few days will only stick with us for one more day. An area of low pressure is developing along the front near Florida’s east coast. This low will move away from SWFL and near the coast of the Carolinas.
The wind will come from the north on Friday and Saturday, which will help keep us drier and not as hot and humid.
Tracking the Tropics
The area of low pressure that is expected to develop east of Florida now has a medium chance of subtropical development. over the next 7 days. Regardless of becoming subtropical or not, it will bring heavy rainfall to portions of the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic states as it tracks northeast and away from Florida.
A tropical wave has moved off the west coast of Africa and near the Cabo Verde Islands. Gradual development is likely as it moves west across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic. It could become a tropical depression late this week or weekend. It is still a ways out, but the latest models are suggesting it will eventually curve toward the northeast before reaching the United States.
Hurricane Nigel now has 90 MPH winds as of 5 PM on Wednesday. Nigel is now moving north-northeast and will likely further weaken into a tropical storm by Friday. It is expected to be a fish storm and not affect land.
