ESTERO, Fla. — A clinical assistant at Estero High School was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student over the course of several months.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, an Estero High School student told deputies on January 18 that she heard a rumor about a student being sexually involved on and off campus with one of the school’s clinical assistants, identified as 21-year-old Yuriria Angeles-Sanchez.
LCSO received information on January 24 that Angeles-Sanchez was having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student between August 30, 2022, and January 18, 2023.
The sheriff’s office began an investigation and interviews were conducted with the victim, Angeles-Sanchez and witnesses.
Angeles-Sanchez was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior. She was booked into the Lee County Jail but has since been released.
ABC7 reached out to the Lee County School District for a response. They issued the following statement:
“We immediately suspended the employee when notified of the allegations. She never returned to the school and her contract expired in June.”
