When mobility is an issue, even taking a simple bath can be a struggle, but a San Diego-based business wants to make that a little easier for two San Diegans in need.
Shugarman’s Bath, a bathroom remodeling service specializing in tub and shower installs, has planned a giveaway for two new soaking walk-in tubs and installations for San Diegans in need. Walk-in tubs offer a safer, seated bathing experience that can alleviate the discomfort and risk that frail seniors and people with physical disabilities often face.
The giveaway is offered in partnership with Special Liberty Project, a nonprofit that serves Gold Star families and healing veterans through nature-centric and therapeutic events and experiences. The group’s efforts are designed to boost the veteran family through camaraderie and support from peers with similar struggles. Nominees do not need to be veterans.
“Our team can only imagine the difficulties that disabled individuals face when their environments don’t cater to their accessibility needs. In bath areas specifically, not having the proper space can make taking a bath or shower extremely challenging or even unsafe,” said Chase Shugarman, president and co-owner of Shugarman’s Bath.
“Everyone deserves a relaxing, comfortable bathing experience that works for them, not against them. Our team is looking forward to installing these walk-in tubs and positively impacting the lives of two deserving individuals in need.”
Nominations are accepted from May 18 to through June 18. To enter or nominate someone else in need, complete the form on the community service page of the Shugarman’s Bath website: shugarmansbath.com/resources/community-service/. No purchase is necessary; see the site for details.
Winners will be announced at noon on June 23 on Instagram and Facebook Live via @shugarmansbath social media accounts.
