Drier weather arrives today for SWFL, and it looks to stick around for awhile!
We’re starting our Tuesday with a quiet, albeit hazy morning. That haze comes courtesy of high altitude smoke that originated from wildfires in Canada, pushed southward by the northeastly winds we felt throughout the day yesterday. Along with the smoky haze, those winds have also brought drier air to SWFL, leaving us with noticeably lower humidity and much lower rain chances. Outside of a stray sprinkle, expect dry conditions today, with the steady breeze a low humidity keeping things feeling pretty nice out there despite highs near 90°.
We’ll lose the hazy skies tomorrow but keep the mainly dry conditions in place. Outside of an isolated quick hitting shower expect another sun-filled day with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
Dry weather continues through the end of the week too. A cold front will dive through the area Saturday, bringing cooler than average weather for Sunday and Monday! For many spots, both mornings will likely be in the 60s!
Tracking the tropics:
Tropical Storm Philippe is bringing heavy rain to the northern Windward and Leeward Islands as it slowly crawls northward. The storm will pull away from the islands in the coming days as it tracks northward into the open Atlantic. It will likely pass to the east of Bermuda later this week, and could bring impacts to parts of Canada as a non-tropical low over the weekend.
There are no other areas of concern in the Atlantic, and no additional development is expected for the next 7 days. Hurrican season continues through November.
