Two residents and a firefighter was injured at a fire Wednesday morning at a nursing home in the West Ridge neighborhood, officials said.
About 12 ambulances and extra equipment were sent to the scene at 3101 W. Touhy Ave., according to fire officials. The extra medical help was sent to the scene to check out residents.
Larry Langford, spokesman for CFD, said a kitchen fire was confined to one room, but made conditions smoky. One resident suffered a minor injury due to smoke, as well as a second resident. The fire was quickly put out, Langford said.
A firefighter at the scene also suffered a minor facial injury from a fall, Langford said.
