Highland Park returns to the list as the top five teams hold steady.

With records through Wednesday and previous rankings in parentheses.

1. Antioch 7-0 (1)

The Sequoits have scored 354 points, at least 124 more than any other Lake County team, after putting up 64 against Grant.

2. Warren 5-2 (2)

The Blue Devils have outscored their past five opponents 190-48, including a 46-0 win against Waukegan last week.

3. Lake Zurich 6-1 (3)

Chris Pirrone and Alex Pirrone combine for 135 yards and two touchdowns in a win against Lake Forest.

4. Carmel 6-1 (4)

Home games against two-win teams Niles Notre Dame and St. Patrick stand between the Corsairs and their first eight-win season since 2010.

5. Stevenson 5-2 (5)

Frank Costabile finds the end zone on four of his nine touches, with three TD runs and a TD catch, in the Patriots’ 50-0 win against Zion-Benton.

6. Wauconda 5-2 (7)

A strong offensive line paves the way for 312 rushing yards in the Bulldogs’ 44-7 win against Lakes.

7. Libertyville 4-3 (10)

The Wildcats’ 41-0 win against Mundelein is their first shutout since 2019.

8. Deerfield 4-3 (6)

The Warriors face a Central Suburban South measuring stick as perennial power Maine South comes to town.

Tyler Gleyzer’s 13 tackles and Alex Knight’s nine tackles with two sacks highlight the Giants’ big defensive effort in a win against Niles West.

Coming off two straight losses, the Scouts have another tough assignment against Warren.

Senior running back Nick Day rushed for 159 yards on 25 carries and tied a school record with six touchdowns in Antioch’s 64-32 win against Grant.

Sophomore defensive back Bryce Erkman’s two interceptions and sophomore linebacker Chris Chang’s two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a TD, accounted for four of Lake Zurich’s five takeaways in its 43-0 win against Lake Forest.
