National Weather Service officials are expecting rain Friday with a few thunderstorms in portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana with a possibility of wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Officials said it was likely for storms to weaken but there is a chance of isolated damaging wind south to Kankakee.
There also is a threat of localized flooding into Friday evening and night, especially in low lying and poor drainage areas, officials said.
Saturday, there is an 100% chance of showers and conditions are expected to be windy.
Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport are overcast at 58 degrees. At Midway Airport conditions are the same at 57 degrees.
