IMMOKALEE, Fla. — A $20,000 grant will help families in Immokalee access safe affordable housing.
The money is going to the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance from U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management of Naples. After learning about the organization, private wealth advisor, Yvonne Bourk, was inspired to support it.
She said she wanted to be part of creating safe homes for children, families and workers in Immokalee. Many of them currently live in dilapidated, crowded conditions.
The Fair Housing Alliance is currently building a housing complex of 128 rental units and a community center. It’s being built on 10 acres of property on Lake Trafford Road in Immokalee.
