Megyn Kelly said she thinks Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis erred by ordering his state’s public university system to bar pro-Hamas student organizations in the wake of the Gaza-based terrorist organization’s attack against Israel on Oct. 7.

“My instincts are let them speak. Let them get out there and let’s see who’s in the groups,” Kelly said during Wednesday’s broadcast of her SiriusXM news talk show.

Florida’s university system, working with DeSantis, ordered colleges on Tuesday to shut down chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine, marking the first US state to outlaw the group whose national leadership backed Hamas’ attack on Israel.

The State University System of Florida said chapters of SJP had to be dismantled as part of a “crackdown” in the Republican-led state on campus demonstrations that provide “harmful support for terrorist groups.”

The national SJP was widely criticized after it hailed the Hamas attack as “a historic win for the Palestinian resistance” and called for a “day of resistance” on Oct. 12 with demonstrations by its chapters at over 200 colleges in America and Canada.

Kelly said that she is supportive of efforts to bar students who have failed to explicitly condemn Hamas from employment in the private sector.

“I love what the employers are doing with hard no on coming into Apollo Global Management or Winston & Strawn law firm,” Kelly said.

Marc Rowan, the billionaire CEO of private equity giant Apollo Global Management, demanded the resignation of top administrators at his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, for failing to explicitly condemn antisemitism.

Winston & Strawn, the prestigious New York City law firm, said that it had rescinded a job offer to a New York University law student who wrote in a student bar association online publication that “Israel bears full responsibility” for Hamas’ deadly attack in Israel.

Kelly endorsed the actions by the law firm and other companies that shun prospective employees who expressed support for Hamas.

A heavy police presence was seen during a teach-in organized by the Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Florida on Oct. 12.

“You can say whatever the hell you want, and I, as an employer, can do whatever the hell I want.”

The Oct. 7 surprise cross-border assault by Hamas terrorists left some 1,400 Israeli soldiers and civilians dead while more than 200 others were taken captive.

In response, Israel has unleashed a fierce aerial bombardment campaign while massing troops along the border with the Gaza Strip in anticipation of what many believe to be an imminent invasion of the Palestinian enclave.

Thousands of Palestinians are reported to have been killed as a result of Israeli strikes.

College campuses have been roiled by student reaction to the events in Israel and Gaza. Dozens of pro-Palestinian groups at Harvard signed a letter blaming Israel for the Oct. 7 assault.

Harvard administrators’ failure to immediately condemn the letter was criticized by former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

Bill Ackman, the hedge fund billionaire, demanded that Harvard release a list of the names of students who are members of the groups so that their resumes won’t be considered for job applications — a call that was endorsed by at least a dozen CEOs in tech and other sectors.

Kelly was critical of Jordan’s Queen Rania, who took aim at the West’s “silence” over Israeli actions in Gaza.

Kelly also condemned CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, who “apparently has been hired by the Palestinians” in order to put “their spin” on events.

Amanpour recently interviewed Jordan’s Queen Rania, who condemned the West for its “silence” and “glaring double standard” in not condemning Israel for its actions in Gaza.

“They celebrate her over here in America because she’s incredibly beautiful and we want to believe that she’s pro-Western and this is somebody we can work with…,” Kelly said of Queen Rania, adding: “It’s a no.”

Kelly took the Jordanian royal to task for not explicitly condemning Hamas.

Kelly said CNN’s Christiane Amanpour appears to have been “hired by the Palestinians.”

“Even the Palestinians’ most ardent supporters have learned that they need to spend like three lines on how they feel terrible about what happened to the Israelis,” Kelly said.

“That would be a good place to start.”

The Post has sought comment from DeSantis, SJP, Queen Rania, CNN, and Amanpour.
