A $130,000 grant will help a local nonprofit assist more families in Southwest Florida.

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation has supported Better Together since 2016.  The nonprofit helps parents who are going through a hard time. They work to keep their kids out of foster care by coordinating temporary care.  They also help people address the root cause of their struggle. 

Through their program, Better Jobs, Better Together also helps people find employment locally and in more than 20 other states. 

Over the past nine years, The Schulze Family Foundation has funded Better Together with more than $900,000. 

“We’ve seen the numbers of children they’ve served, we’ve seen the number of families who have been reunified, we’ve seen the number of folks who have had job interviews and more importantly job placements,” said Mary Beth Geier, the Florida Director for the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.

To date, Better Together has served more than 9,000 children and nearly 39,000 job seekers. 

The grant will help the nonprofit continue to build its capacity so that it can serve more children, families and jobseekers in Southwest Florida and beyond.
