Taylor Swift‘s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) opened with one of the most dominant weeks on the charts in years, as the album takes seven of the top 10 slots on Billboard’s Hot 100, the publication announced on Monday. Combined with the Lover hit “Cruel Summer,” Swift took eight of the top 10 on this week’s chart.

Leading the way on this week’s chart is vault track “Is It Over Now?,” which drew in 32 million streams last week, per Luminate. The track dethroned “Cruel Summer, which topped the chart over four years after its release for the past two weeks and now falls to Number Six. New vault tracks took up much of the top-five as well, with “Now That We Don’t Talk” taking second, Slut!” taking third, and “Say Don’t Go” in fifth. Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” took fourth and blocked Swift from taking the entire top-five.

Taking Seventh was the re-recorded “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar, while SZA’s “Snooze fell to Eight. Rounding out the Top-10 were Swift’s “Style” and Suburban Legends.”

1989 (Taylor’s Version) is the first time one of Swift’s re-recorded projects outsold the original album in its debut, and with 1.6 million units, it marks the largest debut for an album since Adele’s 25 in 2015. Such strong figures came in part because of the dozen different physical versions she offered for sale, driving collectors.

This week marks Swift’s second most dominant charting week ever, behind when she released Midnights a year ago and became the only artist to take the entirety of the top 10 for herself. While no one else has accomplished such a feat, Drake is the only other artist to come close, taking nine of the top 10 in 2021 after he released Certified Lover Boy. Swift, Drake, and the Beatles are the only artists to hold all of the top-five slots at one time.

Swift’s chart dominance this week is just the latest in a massive year for the world’s biggest artist. Swift has had three albums top the charts this year between Midnights and her “Taylor’s Version” re-records of Speak Now and 1989. She’s also had three Hot 100 Number Ones with “Anti-Hero,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Is It Over Now?” According to data from Luminate, Swift holds four of the top 10 best-performing albums of 2023 — and eight of the top 25.

With debut week over, the attention now turns to how Swift fares next week. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is still the likely contender to repeat at Number One on the Albums chart, though the Beatles’ much covered “final song” “Now and Then” could be a contender on Next week’s Hot 100, as could “Paint The Town Red” and “Cruel Summer.”
