Five presidential candidates are set to take the stage in Miami on Wednesday night for the third Republican debate, with former president Donald Trump, the polling front-runner, once again skipping the showdown. Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina all met tighter criteria than last time established by the Republican National Committee. Trump once again plans some counterprogramming: a rally in nearby Hialeah, Fla., which is heavily Hispanic.
