1 dead, 2 hospitalized in Lehigh Acres crash

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A 72-year-old woman was killed and two others were taken to the hospital after a vehicle and motorcycle crashed in Lehigh Acres Wednesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle was headed northbound on Joel Boulevard toward East 10th Street. A motorcycle was traveling southbound on the same road.

At around 6:12 p.m., a vehicle tried to make a left turn in front of the approaching motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the side of the vehicle.

The passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to Lehigh Regional Hospital where they were later pronounced dead, FHP said.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and the motorcyclist was seriously injured. Both were taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
