LONG BEACH, Calif. – A seafood restaurant in Long Beach is picking up the pieces after a mass transit bus crashed into the building.
The Long Beach Police Department responded to a call of the crash from the Boujie Crab restaurant on East South Street at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday. Surveillance video from a nearby home showed a transit bus getting in a crash with a Dodge Charger before crashing into the restaurant.
Officials with Long Beach Fire Department say 14 people received medical help at the scene and 10 people were rushed to the hospital. Their injuries are believed to range from minor to critical, but stable, police tell FOX 11.
Witnesses tell FOX 11 the Dodge was speeding when it got involved in the crash. Both vehicles ended up hitting the restaurant. Boujie Crab was not open at the time of the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
