Five dead in fiery US 41 crash in Estero

UPDATE: ESTERO, Fla. — The four other victims who were involved in the deadly crash at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Williams Road are being remembered by their friends.

According to a longtime friend of the victims, Maria Burgeson, Diane Powers, Susie Galla, and Mary Engdahl were in the SUV.

ORIGINAL STORY: ESTERO, Fla. — Five people are dead after a motorcyclist crashed into a car in Estero Wednesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one person was on a motorcycle and four people were in a vehicle involved in the fiery collision at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Williams Road.

FHP states that the front of the motorcycle crashed with the side of the car and both came to rest within the intersection at around 8:45 p.m.

The force of the deadly crash ignited the flames. The driver of the car and three other passengers were pronounced dead on scene.

The motorcyclist involved in the crash was Malachi Parker, according to his friend Cassie Jindra.

FHP said it is working to positively identify all the crash victims, and the crash remains under investigation.
