Members of South Korean K-pop group Blackpink looked shocked as King Charles mentioned them in a speech at Buckingham Palace in London.

They were name-checked for supporting environmental causes at a banquet on the first day of the South Korean president’s state visit to the UK.

“I can only admire how they can prioritise these vital issues, as well as being global superstars,” the King said.

The members – Roseanne Park, Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim and Lalisa Manoban – were also presented with honorary MBEs during the state visit.
