0011 GMT — Nikkei Stock Average edges 0.1% higher to 33479.70 in early trade amid a lower 2-year Treasury yield, which could reduce the appeal of U.S. fixed-income assets and prompt investors to shift funds into equities. Barring a sudden “handbrake turn” from the Fed, the backdrop of declining yields and rising stocks could prevail well into December, says Chris Beauchamp, chief market analyst at IG, in an email. Among best performers on the benchmark index, Nitori Holdings rises 3.2%, Renesas Electronics adds 3.1%, and Rohm is up 2.6%. USD/JPY is at 148.30, compared with 149.11 as of Monday’s Tokyo stock-market close. ([email protected])
