An off-duty Chicago Police officer was one of seven people robbed at gunpoint across the city during a two-hour period late Monday.

The 33-year-old officer was getting out of his vehicle around 10:20 p.m. in the 3200 block of North Leclaire Avenue when four males, all armed with a handgun or a rifle, approached him and demanded his property, according to Chicago police.

Two more robberies were reported within minutes of each other, both occurring in and around the Little Italy neighborhood near the UIC campus, according to police.

Two men were walking in the 700 block of West 15th Street around 9:36 p.m. when two males armed with handguns got out of a blue Honda sedan and demanded their property. Twenty minutes later, three women were standing outside in the 1400 block of West Lexington Street when a male approached them and demanded their belongings at gunpoint, according to a CPD media notification.

Just before 11 p.m., a man was outside in the 3800 block of South Wallace Street in Bridgeport when two males got out of a black sedan and robbed the 50-year-old at gunpoint.

No injuries were reported in any of the robberies and no suspects were in custody as of early Tuesday, according to police.
