PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — We welcomed local Punta Gorda musical talent, “The Champ Jaxon Band,” led by their 13-year-old namesake, to perform their new original songs, “Homework Blues” and “Gas Station Tie-Dye.”
The Champ Jaxon Band is fronted by 13-year-old…Champ Jaxon of Punta Gorda, FL. He leads the band vocally and on guitar, along with his father, Nate Winkler, on rhythm guitar, Nick Rosado on bass, and Brent Adam on drums.

The band formed when Champ was just nine years old. Over the past four years, they have performed throughout Southwest Florida and across nine other states.
In December of 2021, they released their debut album, “The Grove”, which was recorded at Farmadelica Sound in Bokeelia on Pine Island. It includes six original songs including “Born in the Grove” and “Defend the Sacred,” telling the story of what old Florida is all about.
