Authorities responded to a call came from the 200 block of Fern Drive, police said in a statement posted to social media. Elk Grove Village police did not immediately provide an update on the condition of the person shot.

Police provided few details aside from saying the area near the shooting was secure, with no continued threat to public safety. The department’s major case assistance team was investigating the shooting, according to the statement.
