Andover held off fifth-seeded Eagan in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A girls soccer state tournament Tuesday at White Bear Lake, taking a 2-1 victory on penalty kicks. The fourth-seeded Huskies made four penalty kicks to the Wildcats’ one.

Huskies goalkeeper Haley Mau stopped two of three penalty kicks, and Skylyn Jorgenson, Addie Dobratz, Lauren Wright and Brenna Hudson beat Wildcats backup goalkeeper Caitlin Allred.

Jorgenson got the Huskies (12-4-2) on the board first from 35 yards out 5 minutes, 55 seconds into the second half. She ripped a shot over the outstretched arms of Wildcats goalkeeper Natalie Valiga.

Kylee Weisendanger sent the game to overtime with 6:06 left. The junior beat Mau with a shot into the far top corner from 28 yards out to tie the score 1-1.

The Wildcats (13-4-2) lost Valiga with 5:33 left in the first overtime period when she was given a red card. The senior goalkeeper came out to challenge a long ball toward the box. She slid to break up the play, and Dobratz went sprawling over her.

In the lone other girls state tournament quarterfinal Tuesday:

Wayzata 2, Lakeville North 0: Junior midfielder Nicole Mahabadi deflected in a corner kick in the 33rd minute and senior forward Davy Mokelke added a late insurance goal as the No. 2-ranked Trojans (19-1-0) defeated the Panthers (13-4-2) in the Class 3A tournament.
