At least eight people were victims of armed robbers overnight Tuesday on the Near West and Southwest sides, Chicago police said.

The robberies started shortly after 10 p.m. in the Brighton Park neighborhood in the 4000 block of South Archer Avenue. Police responded to an armed robbery of two men and a woman whom were approached by three armed robbers. The trio demanded the victims property, and then took off in a silver sedan, police said.

About 30 minutes later, officers were called to a robbery in the 3300 block of South Ashland Avenue in the McKinley Park neighborhood. Two male victims told police they were robbed by two people with handguns whom fled the scene in a silver sedan.

About 10:50 p.m., a man was approached by three armed robbers in the 1600 block of West 35th, also in the McKinley Park neighborhood. The robbers demanded the victims belongings and struck him twice in the neck before fleeing in a silver sedan. The victim refused medical help, police said.

Around 11:30 p.m., two men, ages 26 and 29, were robbed in the 1400 block of West Taylor Street in the Little Italy/UIC neighborhood. The robbers fled in a silver sedan.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
