Beyoncé concert could bring traffic havoc to Uptown

Cuff up your travel plans early if you are heading to the Beyonce concert in Uptown Wednesday night, so traffic struggles don’t break your soul.

Superstar Beyoncé is bringing her Renaissance World Tour to the Queen City Wednesday. Tens of thousands of fans are expected to descend on the Bank of America Stadium in Uptown Charlotte for the concert.

This is the pop star’s first solo tour in more than six years. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Event organizers advise fans to get there early.

Roads around the Bank of America Stadium will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

  • Mint Street between Morehead Avenue and Graham Street
  • Graham Street between South Mint Street and West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
  • Brooklyn Village Avenue between Mint Street and Church Street

Event organizers advise people to use rideshare services or the light rail to get to the Bank of America Stadium. There is a designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up spot at the corner of Third Street and Church Street next to Romare Bearden Park.
