Bobby Narang’s softball rankings and player of the week for Lake County – Chicago Tribune

1. Antioch 22-1 (1)

Syerra Gilmore improved to 9-0 with two wins while batting .400 with three RBIs.

2. Carmel 18-2 (2)

Grace King, a freshman, had 12 hits in four games, including a pair of home runs, to raise her batting average to .557.

3. Warren 18-6 (4)

After big wins against Stevenson and Mundelein, the Blue Devils are in control in the North Suburban Conference.

4. Mundelein 21-4 (3)

The Mustangs earned quality wins against New Trier and Libertyville before losing to Warren.

5. Libertyville 19-9 (5)

Adriana Callahan, a sophomore, has six hits in her past 11 at-bats, hitting three homers and driving in nine runs in two games.

6. Wauconda 19-8 (6)

Haley Baldwin’s two-out, two-run single in the sixth tied the game against Grant on Tuesday, and Wauconda eventually won on Ellary Nick’s hit in the 12th.

7. Stevenson 11-7-1 (7)

The Patriots head into a game against Wauconda on Saturday after scoring a total of 30 runs in wins against Zion-Benton and Lake Forest.

8. Grant (8) 12-13

The Bulldogs showed promise in the extra-inning game against Wauconda and their 3-1 loss to Antioch on Thursday.

9. Grayslake Central 8-10 (10)

Annie Wolff, a sophomore, was solid in the circle in games against Grant, Antioch and Lakes and threw three innings of no-hit ball against Round Lake.

10. Deerfield 8-8 (NR)

Rori Bowne raised her batting average to .545 to rank among the best in Class 4A.

Carmel sophomore Grace Brown had two home runs and nine RBIs in a win against Benet on Monday and added a hit and two RBIs in a win against Joliet Catholic on Tuesday.
