Callie, the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant run by chef Travis Swikard in San Diego’s East Village, will continue its Flavors of the Sun guest chef dinner series on Nov. 7 with a Chick & Hawk Takeover meal featuring North County chef Andrew Bachelier.
Bachelier was the founding chef at Michelin-starred Jeune et Jolie in Carlsbad before leaving to found two other concepts: the elegant Spanish-inspired brunch spot Atelier Manna he runs with his wife, Larah, in Leucadia, and Chick & Hawk, a gourmet fried chicken concept he co-founded in 2022 with skating icon Tony Hawk.
Bachelier and Hawk have been operating Chick & Hawk as a periodic pop-up concept until they can open their first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
The five-course, family-style meal at Callie will celebrate seasonal ingredients and, 1990s skate culture, and it will preview the long-anticipated Chick & Hawk menu, including Bachelier’s famed fried chicken sandwich. No. substitutions for dietary restrictions will be available for this dinner.
The dinner will be priced at $125 per person, with optional beverage pairings of $55. Tax, a 20 percent service charge and 4 percent surcharge will be added to all checks.
Five dollars of every dinner sold will benefit Feeding San Diego.
Reservations are now available on Opentable from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7.
