CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral Councilwoman Patty Cummings pleaded not guilty to charges following Monday’s arraignment.
Cummings was not present, but her attorney told the judge that his client is ‘not guilty.’
She is facing three felonies for allegedly lying to her constituents about her residence.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, Cummings is facing three third-degree felonies: fraudulent application for a driver’s license and two counts of false swearing in with voting of elections.
Patty Cummings won the Cape Coral City Council District 4 seat in November of 2022. An investigator hired by the City of Cape Coral stated she was not living there when she ran and only lived in District 4 in March 2023.
