FORT MYERS, Fla. — A night of line dancing, fun and food is helping to feed the hungry in Lee County.
Last Thursday, about 200 people showed up to Community Cooperative’s 17th Annual Becoming Cosmopolitan: “Gone Country” event. It was held at The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon in Fort Myers. The event raised more than $150,000 for the nonprofit.
There were line dancing lessons every hour along with food, cocktails, shopping and a silent auction.
Community Cooperative is working to end hunger in Southwest Florida. They have a community kitchen and market in Fort Myers and mobile food pantries. They also operate Meals On Wheels and other programs.
