Walt Disney has named Hugh Johnston senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, tapping the PepsiCo veteran to help the entertainment titan navigate several major challenges in its business.

Disney on Monday said Johnston, 62 years old, will join the Burbank, Calif. company on Dec. 4 after spending more than three decades with PepsiCo. He has been chief financial officer of the snack and beverage giant since 2010.
