It’s a tale as old as time: Price increases are once again hitting guests visiting the Disneyland Resort.
On Wednesday, Disney announced a slew of increases that will impact everything from ticket prices to annual passes to the paid skip-the-line service Genie Plus. Exactly one year ago, SFGATE reported on Disneyland’s last round of price hikes. Disneyland tickets are priced according to demand; busier days, like weekends and holidays, are much more expensive than a Monday in January, for instance. Last October, the highest-tier ticket topped out at $179. Now, it’s gone up to $194. That’s an increase of 8.4% — significantly more than the current inflation rate of 3.7%.

Two-day tickets, which were $285 per person over the age of 9, are now $310. The good news is that single-day tickets in the lowest tier, reserved for the least busy days of the year, are staying put at $104. There are also some limited dates in 2024 where kids’ tickets are just $50 if you’re able to swing those days.
Genie Plus, which replaced the free Fast Pass system, is getting a big increase from its starting point of $25 per person per day. It will now start at $30 per day, with the option to increase to an undisclosed price depending on demand. For a family of four, that could mean an additional $120 per day to skip lines at 12 attractions at Disneyland and eight at Disney California Adventure; on Wednesday, Genie Plus is $35 per guest, with the holiday travel season still to come. Keep in mind that Disney manages expectations by warning the average person only skips two to three lines per day with the service.
If you bring your car to Disneyland, that’s getting more expensive too. Regular parking in the Disney-operated lots — Mickey and Friends, Pixar Pals and Toy Story — is going from $30 to $35 per day. If you want preferred parking, that’ll set you back $55 per day, also an increase of $5 over the previous price. (We may regret sharing this and blowing up our secret spot, but we have a much cheaper parking lot that we prefer for park days.)
Finally, Disneyland’s annual passes will cost anywhere from $50 to $150 more per tier, although the sale of Magic Keys is currently paused. It’s not clear when sales will resume.
