The rappers’ diss tracks appeared as a clue on the iconic game show

Contestants were tested on their knowledge of rap’s fiercest battles during Tuesday’s episode of Jeopardy! Listed under the category “Diss-Track-Tions,” Drake and Kendrick Lamar‘s beef got shout-outs during the broadcast.

“In May 2024, these 2 competitors went back and forth with tracks like ‘Family Matters’ and ‘Meet the Grahams,’” read the $800 prompt, to which contestant Isaac responded: “Who are Kendrick Lamar and Drake?”

Elsewhere in the column, Jay-Z and Nas’ yearslong beef received a shout-out with a $2,000 prompt that read, “The title of this hate letter from Nas to Jay-Z that shares its name with an anesthetic drug now means ‘to insult publicly.’” The answer was, of course, “What is ‘Ether,’” in reference to the 2001 response to Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” which heard a voice repeat “Fuck Jay-Z” throughout the song. (The two officially buried the hatchet in the mid-2000s and have since appeared on several tracks together, recently joining DJ Khaled in the video for “Sorry Not Sorry.”)

Also receiving shoutouts in the category were 50 Cent and Cam’ron’s rap fights, the Game and Eminem back-and-forth, and Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur’ Nineties beef. The Biggie-Tupac song mentioned Shakur’s “Hit ‘Em Up” and the late rap star’s affinity for repping the West Coast.

The Jeopardy! category comes as Lamar’s “Not Like Us” (the follow up to the “Meet the Grahams” versus “Family Matters” drama) returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Monday. Lamar released the video for the fiery rap, which featured clowns and an owl piñata last week. Rolling Stone‘s Andre Gee descried “Not Like Us” as “a DJ Mustard-crafted knockout blow with a classic L.A. swing.”
