Driver killed in Mission Valley crash was Fallbrook resident

Authorities have publicly identified a 28-year-old man who was killed over the weekend in a late-night solo car crash on state Route 163 near Fashion Valley mall.

Albert Solis of Fallbrook was headed south about 12:45 a.m. Saturday when the vehicle he was driving veered off the freeway, went up an embankment north of Friars Road and struck a tree, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Solis died at the scene of the crash, the agency reported.

No further information was available.
