Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light live in woke distorted reality

The Bud Light/Dylan Mulvaney fiasco continues.

Now Mulvaney has announced, during a TikTokked trip to Peru, that “I had to leave my country to feel safe.”

Huh? Joe Biden invited her to the White House; his administration is 100% aligned with Mulvaney’s own extreme views on gender.

How much “safer” could she be?

Yes, a global beverage giant wound up losing billions in market value after it opted to promote her inane “brand,” but the blowback was at the beer, not the “influencer.”

Yet criticize her a little, and she feels so “unsafe” she has to flee (to Peru, whose sitting president caused a tizzy in 2020 by allegedly misgendering a trans activist).

Mulvaney’s as out of touch with reality as the woke marketing executives at Bud who dreamed up the disastrous partnership in the first place.

Anson Frericks, a longtime executive at Bud Light parent Anheuser-Busch, called the team-up a “mistake.” And he’s dead right.

Sure, Bud’s made a minor pivot since the catastrophe.

But Anheuser CEO Brendan Whitworth has refused to state publicly that Mulvaney was bad news for the company, instead dishing out woke pabulum about vague commitments to LGBTQ rights.

And Bud wouldn’t face this mess at all if it had simply hired marketing execs not living in lefty fantasyland.

People who get that, no, most Americans — let alone the grill-dads who quaff Bud Light — don’t want any politics rammed down their throat at the checkout line, left or right.

The widening boycotts of Anheuser products, the slide in its stock price and the increasingly bizarre behavior of Mulvaney herself prove that beyond any doubt.

Yet it’s something almost all Americans grasp even without the evidence of a massive commercial fall from grace.

All the companies that jumped on the woke agenda would have benefitted from this warning from George Orwell: “Some ideas are so stupid that only intellectuals believe them.”
