Fans slam ‘DWTS’ for ‘boring,’ uneventful three-hour finale: ‘Nonsense’

Fans shuffled away from their TVs Tuesday night and instead, headed straight to social media to complain about the unexpectedly uneventful “Dancing with the Stars” Season 32 finale.

With a history-making five couples dancing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, fans expected the ABC show to get straight into the action.

But the show completely skipped its usual glitzy professional dancer-performed opening number and instead played pre-recorded video packages of judges Carrie-Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli recapping the stars’ previous dances, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the couples preparing to take the ballroom floor.

Couples Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach, Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov, Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber are all competing for the show’s coveted mirrorball.

Soon enough, a countdown timer appeared on the screen, letting fans know that the competition would begin 30 minutes into the show.

Disappointed viewers quickly flocked to X, formally known as Twitter, to express their frustrations.

“’Competition starts in 12 minutes’ why did you add a whole hour you couldn’t fill,” a disgruntled fan wrote.

“Should I just check back later? This is so boring,” one person wondered.

“What the hell is happening right now,” another asked. “This nonsense is why the finale is going to take three hours.”

A third critiqued, “Ummm this is the weirdest start ever. Where’s the opening number?”

“…is there no opening number??? for the FINALE???” another screamed.

“I know they’re not wasting time with a recap rn…” someone else stated the obvious.

“Can the judges shut up already and just let the dances begin?!” a final person begged.

The Post has contacted reps for “DWTS” for comment.

As for the show’s future, “The Golden Bachelor” star Gerry Turner, 72, tells The Post he wouldn’t say no to joining the ballroom next season.

“I would be open to any and all opportunities because as much fun as I’ve had up to this point, and as much fun as my family has had coming along with me on this journey, I wouldn’t say no to anything,” the newly-engaged senior said.

“I would have to kind of get more information before I committed to something,” Turner continued. “But gosh, I mean, how much fun could that be?”
