Cuffing season is the time of year when single people start to look for short-term relationships during the fall and winter months, according to Merriam-Webster. It’s normally the colder months of the year, so it’s also when people want to keep extra warm, especially on the East Coast. 

In my 20s, Cuffing Season also meant being in a relationship so that you did not have to field questions from the family about not having a girlfriend during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.
