After a comfortable afternoon in the upper 70s, our second cold front of the week moves through heading into Wednesday. This front is a bit slow-moving, so its effects will not be felt until the end of the day on Wednesday.
The front will bend our wind direction from the northwest, as it is on Tuesday night, to the due north as we get into Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. This northerly direction of the wind will bring down some chilly air, with temperatures by Thursday morning getting into the upper 40s in the urban corridor, low to mid-40s inland, and near 50 at the beaches.
It’s not going to be cold enough for frost, but certainly cold enough for long sleeves and jackets to start the morning on Thursday.
As we get into Thursday afternoon, the wind will start losing that chili northerly component to it. The wind will turn to the east by the time we get into Thursday night and Friday, which will start warming us as we get into the weekend.
By Sunday, dew points will be back to near 70° and feeling a little bit sultry across Southwest Florida. It’ll be Sunday night into Monday when another cool front passes through SWFL with a chance for rain and some slightly cooler temperatures.
