Grab your jackets! It’s going to be a chilly holiday weekend.
Temperatures are starting to fall Friday night and are expected to be in the lower 50s by early Saturday morning. It will get warmer during the afternoon, in the mid-upper 60s—but still unseasonably cool as highs for late December are normally in the mid-70s.
Saturday morning will feature more clouds, but the afternoon will be partly sunny. High pressure will build in for Sunday and leave us with plenty of sunshine through New Year’s Day.
With the clear skies, it’s going to get quite chilly at night. You’ll want to dress warm on NYE if you plan on heading to the Fort Myers ball drop or being outside to watch fireworks. Temperatures are forecast to fall below 50 after midnight. It will stay cold through the sunrise on Monday, with temperatures rebounding near 70 later in the day.
