We continue to track storms developing this Thursday evening. The last of the rain will come to an end before midnight. It will be mostly cloudy overnight and muggy. Lows will be in the mid-upper 70s.

Hopefully, the clouds will be part enough to see the full harvest moon tonight, which will also be a supermoon. This is the last supermoon we will experience until next September.

We could once again see some patchy fog Friday morning, around sunrise. The fog will lift, giving way to some sunshine, but storms will be on the way for the afternoon.  Spotty downpours will first pop up near the coast and spread east. We will once again see a partial clearing for the latter half of the afternoon. In the evening, we will be watching for inland storms getting pulled back towards the coast.

Highs will be near 90 through the next few days. Eventually, we will be tracking a drier and more comfortable forecast returning next week.

Tracking the Tropics:

We are tracking two tropical systems in the Atlantic— with one being newly formed Tropical Storm Rina in the central tropical Atlantic.

Rina is forecast to stay a tropical storm over the next several days as it moves northwest. The latest models have Rina continuing to turn further north next week and away from the United States. It will not impact SWFL.

Tropical Storm Philippe is currently moving west-northwest very slowly, remaining east of the Northern Leeward Islands. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 175 miles from Philippe’s center.  A slow, generally westward motion is expected over the next several days with little change in strength. There are no coastal watches or advisories at this time. There are no other areas being monitored at this time.
