Happy Sunday to you!
It feels wonderful again this morning with dewpoints dipping into the 60s. Most of SWFL still has some dry air over it, but moisture will begin to creep in from the south through the afternoon.
There is the chance for an isolated shower in the early-mid morning, otherwise it will be partly sunny and comfortable. Temperatures will heat into the upper 80s by the afternoon. Clouds will increase and storms will become more scattered around lunchtime. The last of the storms head out of here in the early evening. Rain chances are near 40%.
We will continue to track more thunderstorms this week as a frontal system stalls out near SWFL.
Tracking the tropics
Tropical Storm Philippe has formed in the central tropical Atlantic, as of Saturday’s 5 PM advisory from the National Hurricane Center (NHC). While gradual strengthening is expected, Philippe is forecast to stay a tropical storm through the next several days. It will not turn toward the U.S. and it is not expected to affect land at this time.
A tropical wave has emerged off the west coast of Africa with a broad area of showers and t-storms. Conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of the system in the middle to latter portion of next week as it treks west across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
