Some areas are at least getting a little bit of rain as a cool front passes through Southwest Florida Wednesday evening. A lot of us will remain dry, which is unfortunate because areas west of I-75 are in moderate droughts as we enter the dry season.
Even those areas that got rain on Wednesday did not get a whole bunch of rain, which would bust our drought. Rain totals were a tenth of an inch or less around the area.
Heading into Thanksgiving, the wind will turn around to the north, which will lower the humidity and the temperature. We will start the morning on Thursday in the mid-60s with a gentle northerly breeze and lower humidity levels.
Thanksgiving Day turns out mostly sunny across a lot of Southwest Florida, but a few clouds will hang on in eastern Henry and Eastern Collier County. Along with the sunshine, high temperatures will be just shy of 80° around most of Southwest Florida on Thursday.
Tracking the Tropics
The NHC continues to monitor an area of low pressure in the central Atlantic. It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical or subtropical storm as it moves eastward over the next few days. It is no threat to land regardless of development.
Hurricane season officially ends at the end of the month.
