With this heat and humidity, it’s hard to avoid the late afternoon/evening rain chances.

Scattered storms will continue to develop in SWFL through 7-8 P.M. Thursday. The last of the rain will wind down shortly after.

The rest of the night will be muggy and partly cloudy. Overnight lows are in the upper 70s.

With sunshine early in the day, temperatures will heat up to lower and mid 90s. Isolated downpours will start to pop up late Friday morning with storms becoming more likely in the afternoon. The rain will come to an end late in the day. Rain chances are near 60%.

The latest forecast indicates a higher chance of rain on Sunday than Saturday, but we will most likely see storms develop each day. The hot/rainy pattern will continue through most of next week.

Tracking the Tropics

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is only tracking one broad area of storms in the Atlantic that has very low chances for development. There are no threats to Florida and there are no other areas of concern at this time.
