Classic rainy season weather is expected today for SWFL, with a dry and sunny morning giving way to widespread afternoon and evening storms. 

Before the storms begin, it will be HOT. Temperatures are running above average again this morning, settling into the middle and upper 70s. Under mostly sunny skies temperatures will jump into the middle and lower 90s by the early afternoon. Factoring in the high humidity, feels like numbers between 105°- 110° will be common. As such, a *Heat Advisory* is in effect for Collier, Glades and Hendry Counties once again today.

Look for storms to develop shortly after 2PM, starting by the coast and then becoming widespread as we head into the later afternoon and early evening. A few storms will be strong, packing torrential rain, frequent lightning, and in some cases gusty winds. As storms will likely be slow moving too localized flooding will be a threat — so use caution when driving through the rain later today. 

Rain chances will remain high tomorrow, with a dry morning giving way to widespread afternoon storms. By Friday an area of Saharan dust will begin to settle over Florida, leaving us with hazy skies and lower rain chances for the weekend. Highs will hold in the middle and lower 90s throughout. 

Tracking the tropics:
Tropical Storm Don continues to meander in the open Atlantic. It will swirl westward and then turn back north later this week, staying well away from land. There are no other areas of concern out there at the moment, and no additional development is expected over the next 7 days.
