The smoky conditions we experienced yesterday are over for SWFL, as easterly wind drove the smoke out over the Gulf overnight. As such, we’re back to bright and sunny skies this morning, with temperatures climbing from our morning lows in the low 70s. By the afternoon we’ll reach highs in the lower 90s and upper 80s — but relatively low humidity and a nice breeze will keep it feeling fairly comfortable.

We’ll be tracking a few showers this afternoon and evening, moving from east to west across the state on the back of our ENE breeze. Rain will be passing in nature, though a few brief downpours will be possible around dinner time.

Rain chances will be even low for the rest of the week, with plenty of sun and highs near 90 through Saturday. A cold front will dive through the area Saturday evening, bringing cooler than average weather for Sunday and Monday! For many spots, both mornings will likely be in the 60s! 

Tracking the tropics:

Tropical Storm Philippe is bringing heavy rain to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands this morning. The storm will pull away from the islands in the coming days as it tracks northward into the open Atlantic. It will track close to or over Bermuda later this week, and could bring impacts to parts of Canada and New England as a non-tropical low over the weekend.

There are no other areas of concern in the Atlantic, and no additional development is expected for the next 7 days. Hurrican season continues through November.
