A weak cool front stretched across Florida is triggering the scattered showers we’ve enjoyed Monday. I say “enjoyed” because it’s abnormally dry, and we need all the rain we can get in Southwest Florida.
This front will not move much on Tuesday, so more showers will form and run across the Peninsula from east to west. Rain coverage on Tuesday will be around 30%, but it will go up on Wednesday to 40%.
This means that there are a few opportunities for your lawn to get a drink without the sprinklers this week! Rain will hand around again Thursday before another cool front sweeps everything clean by Friday and the weekend. Again, we need all the rain we can get so this is a welcome forecast.
Tracking the Tropics:
An area of interest in the southwestern Caribbean Sea has a high chance of development over the next 7 days. The eventual track takes the system to the northeast, most likely aimed towards eastern Cuba or Hispaniola.
