It’s going to be another pleasant night for us as temperatures fall back into the 70s after sundown.  The sky will be mainly clear overnight and through Saturday, giving plenty of sunshine. 

Saturday morning starts off feeling pretty comfortable—just below 70. Winds, coming from the northeast, will pick up again by the afternoon with occasional gusts near 25 MPH. Even though the breeze will feel nice, it’s going to get very warm in the afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 80s. No rain is in the forecast for Saturday. 

The potential for rain on Sunday will be very low. If we do see any showers develop, it will most likely be in Glades, Hendry, or Collier County. Otherwise, Sunday will be mostly to partly sunny, with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

We will track a cold front next week with the opportunity for isolated showers to develop, along with cooler air behind the front. 

Tracking the Tropics

Tammy is back from the dead! The remnant low has become a tropical storm again with 65 MPH winds. As it slowly pulls away from Bermuda, it will continue to bring gusty conditions there through Friday night. Tropical Storm Tammy will turn to the north tonight, followed by a turn to the east over the next few days. Tammy is not expected to make another landfall.

There is one other area being watched in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea, where a broad area of low pressure has developed. Some tropical development will be possible next week as the low moves northward into the western Atlantic. Other than throwing some tropical moisture our way, this is not a threat to SWFL.
