It’s going to be another scorching hot day for SWFL today — but there will be more storms out there this afternoon and evening that will help to cool us down a bit. 

We’ll start with a quiet morning. Partly cloudy to mainly sunny skies look for temperatures to climb quickly from our morning lows in the upper 70s and low 80s to afternoon highs in the middle and lower 90s. Factoring in the high humidity, heat index values will range from 105° – 110° this afternoon. As such a *Heat Advisory* is in effect for Collier, Glades and Hendry this afternoon. Stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat when you can this afternoon if you have to be outdoors. 

While the morning will be dry, storms will begin to develop shortly after 12PM, becoming widespread as we head into the later afternoon/early evening. The best rain chances will be for our inland areas, as an onshore wind looks to push the sea breeze to lake Okeechobee and the east coast. As such, most spots west of I-75 will stay mainly rain free. 

Storm coverage will be more widespread in the coming days, as the sea breeze looks to set up closer to our coastline. It will still be hot with highs in the 90s each day. 

Tracking the tropics:
We continue to track Subtropical Depression Don in the central Atlantic. The disturbance will continue to swirl over the open waters this week, and is not expected to impact any land areas. There are no other areas of concern across the Atlantic, and no additional development is expected over the next 7 days.
