Temperatures only rebounded to near 65° on Tuesday afternoon after starting the morning in the mid to upper 40s across much of Southwest Florida. High pressure to our north is giving us these chilly temperatures and will continue to keep SWFL chilly for one more night.
If you find yourself using some extra lip balm or lotion, that’s because the air is dry as well. We had a totally sunny sky on Tuesday afternoon, and that will continue into the early evening.
Overnight, the wind direction will turn a little more to the northeast, which will allow a few clouds to float over from the East Coast. That will keep temperatures just a degree or two milder than Tuesday morning heading into Wednesday.
The ridge of high pressure that is keeping us cool will scoot into the Atlantic by the time we get into the weekend. This will allow our temperatures to warm back up into the 70s for high temperatures, and lows will trend back towards the low 60s into the weekend and early next week.
